A Salisbury man who filled his shopping cart with almost $400 worth of goodies now faces common law robbery charges.

William Grayson Greene, 51, of 75 Burmac Circle, was charged Sunday afternoon by Salisbury Police Officer J. M. McDaniel.

According to an arrest warrant, Greene filled a cart with $393 worth of groceries at Harris Teeter.

As he left the store, the warrant said, Greene knocked down an employee who was attempting to stop him.

His bond was set at $2,500. He is scheduled to appear in Rowan County District Court on Thursday.
