23 area students named to National Honor Roll

Twenty-three area high school and middle school students have been named to the spring 2006 National Honor Roll and will be included in the commemorative edition. They are:

Mount Ulla: Heather Baynes.

China Grove: Kelcey Bennick and Joshua Nunn.

Salisbury: Brittany Bost, William Cagle, Kelly Cheeks, Jessica Clark, Jacob Hill and Mallory Lane.

Rockwell: Alan Burgess, Justin Jackson, William Newsome and Brianna Talbert.

Woodleaf: Shaquanda Connor.

Spencer: Tiara Faulk.

Kannapolis: Monikah Fisher, Kati Pulliam, Melissa Ragan, Raul Romero, Victor Saladolope, Christie Sutherland and Meagan Vance.

Landis: Stephanie Yu.

North Middle bee

Brooke D. Settle, daughter of Jeff and Marsha Settle of Salisbury, was the winner of the 2007 spelling bee at North Rowan Middle School.

Runner-up was Adam Broyles, son of Shari and Duane Broyles of Spencer.

Classroom winners who also competed included Levi Sherrill, Kelsey Ramsue, Travis Waugh, Kingston Wang, Trace Kinser, Axel Medina, Payden Mitchell, Miesha Glenn, Savannah Pope, Edit Belk, Jackie Payton, Donovan Sisomphou, Alexis Cannon, Tamika Banks, Haley Mitchell, Tesla Russell, Zaprinthia Rosser, Brittany Williams, Gareth Cobb, Shelby Dennis, Shaquille Parker, Tyler Ramsue, Tameka Dillingham, Josh Holmes, Erica Easley, Tanner Motley and Brandon Snider.
