The Catawba men watched the women's team make 76 percent of its second-half shots Wednesday in a victory against Lincoln Memorial at Goodman Gym.

Then the men went out and almost matched that performance with a 100-76 victory against the visitors from Harrogate, Tenn., in the second game of a SAC doubleheader.

The Indians (11-6, 3-2) made 70 percent of their shots, outscored the visitors 52-31 in the second half and reached the 100-point mark for the first time this season.

Catawba had a tight battle on its hands in the first half, as it led 48-45 at halftime, but the Indians got hot in the second half. They bolted ahead 66-51 and stayed well in command the rest of the game.

Catawba stretched its lead to 25 at 88-63 with five minutes remaining and hit the century mark when Scott Walton scored a layup with six seconds left.

"We had it going in the second half," Catawba coach Jim Baker said. "We did some good scoring. Our defense also did a good job. It was a good win for us."

Five Indians scored in double figures, led by Antonio Houston with 16. Donald Rutherford shot 6-of-8 from the field for 14 points, while Rob Fields (12 points), Matthew Sossamon (11) and Norman Monroe (10) also scored in double digits.

The Indians shot 56.1 percent from the field and 59.1 percent from the 3-point line.
